Loved reading your purpose. I have been doing this in my garden with native plants and water sources for birds and insects. I am an atheist so I cannot join your group. But I do share your love of nature and the peace it brings my heart.

I was excited to read the article in NYT about the St.Katiri Habitats. As the author said, we must love our earth to save it. I live in a very typical suburban community and ever since I moved here about 14 years ago, I have tried to develop my yard into something beautiful. I now have several native and pollinating plants. I don’t know if I meet the criteria for a St. Katiri Habitat or not but am excited to begin the process. Thank you for the wonderful work you do! You have been an inspiration!

What a blessing to read about this ministry in the Times today. As a Catholic and permaculture landscaper I am happy to see there are more of us taking back our yards and turning them into fruitful, nuturing spaces. I took down out invasive honeysuckle and neighbor`s winter creeper in my backyard to grow raspberries, goldenrod, and lots of native flowers. We even hand dug a small decorative clay bottom pond. Frogs and dragon flies made it home that very summer.
